My approach

Urs Treuthardt

More than 20 years in leadership roles in Switzerland, Germany, England and Austria have shaped my work. I have close ties to the four-country Lake Constance region. Experience across different countries and organisations helps me to look at business models from several perspectives and to implement change in day-to-day operations.

With occursus, I help businesses, destinations and venues develop robust business models and improve commercial performance. My strength lies in consistent implementation: clarifying tasks, taking responsibility and driving agreed changes forward.

From experience to implementation

My leadership work has shown me how strategic decisions play out in day-to-day operations. A new offer has to suit the market, be carried by an organisation and work financially. That is why I consider the business model, people and processes together.

Depending on the task, I contribute this experience through consulting and project responsibility, as interim managing director, in talks, or as an advisory board member and board director. Where additional expertise is required, I work with suitable specialists.

With data:room and the Event Impact Calculator, I also develop offerings of my own. This means facing the same questions I work on in consulting: what is needed, what is financially viable and how does it work in practice?

The occursus model

I developed the occursus model to bring structure to these connections and to work on them together.

Understand better. Decide better. Do better.

Understanding better means clarifying the starting point: what does the market need, how do operations work and what information is missing? This creates the basis for weighing options, setting priorities and deciding better. Doing better means translating decisions into concrete tasks and taking on or supporting the agreed implementation.

These three steps belong together. Insights must enable decisions, and decisions must prove themselves in operations. The model gives the work a shared framework. The aim is robust business models that are financially viable and work in everyday practice.
